Looking forward to performing at the "Gathering: The Music and Story of Our Hearts" this Saturday, October 13, 2018. This promises to be a wonderful evening of music to help raise funds for The Gathering, a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles that seeks to provide opportunities for learning about the ministry to Asian Americans and fostering community among Asian Americans in the Diocese. The concert will be at St. John's Cathedral in Los Angeles and feature classical and jazz selections performed by Haesung Park, organist at St. Matthew's Church in Pacific Palisades; Jenny-Soonjin Kim, adjunct professor of music at Claremont Graduate University and a member of St. Athanasius Church in Los Angeles; and myself. I am especially excited about performing some jazz-inspired pieces with my good friend Tsukumi Shikano, a terrific percussionist.
